Bringing Communities Back to Health

Community Health Action of Staten Island is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals, families and communities challenged by health disparities related to poverty, discrimination and lack of access through direct service, education and advocacy. Initially the Staten Island AIDS Task Force, our hallmark is responding to the health crises in our communities: from the AIDS epidemic initially to Hurricane Sandy most recently.

We provide a broad array of services including HIV prevention, care coordination for people with chronic illness, education for inmates and re-entry support for parolees, addiction treatment, opioid overdose prevention amongst others. We also have a food pantry, an LGBT community center and mobile health units that all offer programs in many locations. We work with people, their relatives and their neighbors to improve health outcomes and promote resiliency.
