CHASI is expanding harm reduction services and moving to St. George!
Starting July 22nd, central offices for harm reduction services will located at 56 Bay Street.
Construction and design teams have been working on renovations for the past six months. It’s a welcoming and bright community space with a great view. The new site is a 10 minute walk from the ferry and is accessible by a number of bus routes, including the 40, 46, and 48. Though the new St. George space will function as the main hub, we will still be providing syringe access and walk-in services from the Mobile Health unit and at the Health Hub at 166 Port Richmond Ave.
CHASI’s harm reduction program works with people who use drugs to reduce the harms and impacts of substance use. CHASI runs Staten Island’s only syringe exchange program and has a network of overdose prevention and education workers. The program also houses medical staff: Nurses and NPs who provide medication-assisted treatment, overdose prevention and education, and nursing services and wound care for people who are unlikely to obtain routine health care anywhere else.
