Our Vaccine Equity and Engagement program (VEPE) is a CHASI resource team that protects our communities and helps reduce the spread of COVID-19. CHASI can help with COVID-19 testing, prevention, and vaccination.

COVID RESPONSE

When COVID-19 hit NYC, CHASI was ready. We’ve been here since the beginning of the pandemic, connecting Staten Islanders to information and resources you can trust.

Starting in 2022, this COVID response department was redirected to focus on hard-hit areas with low vaccination uptake in NYCHA housing. Staff in this program live in NYCHA housing, are vaccinated themselves, and work daily to address the concerns and barriers between residents and preventive care for COVID-19. They have partnerships across the Island to continue spreading reliable health information and connect people to other resources like benefits, screening for chronic disease, and community-based organizations. 

The VEPE team can help you find answers to all your questions about COVID-19, including testing sites, vaccinations, medical care for long-term effects of the virus, and more. Free masks and PPE are also available to you. Call today : 718-808-1431.
